Why?

MTB pink is a chance for women, girls, chicks, friends, sisters, mothers, daughters, aunts, or anyone to take the opportunity for a girls day out. It’s about having a giggle and a laugh, meeting new friends, having fun, and learning a few mountain bike skills throughout the day.

What is it?

MTB pink is a fun day out. Participants can choose to do either the skills session in the morning and the race in the afternoon, or just the race.

We start off by breaking into groups depending on level of skill (or perceived non skill). Our female instructors then take you through a variety of activities designed to increase your confidence on the bike whether you’ve ridden nought or nine thousand times. We then take a break for lunch and some talks on nutrition, basic bike maintenaince, and tips on finding a few extra minutes for yourself! Then after lunch we have a fun race – options include solo, pairs, teams of three, or corporate teams of six, allowing ladies to take turns depending on level of fitness.

Girls take turns doing laps and providing support to each other. There are plenty of options on the track to allow every girl to have fun and you only have to do as much as you want to.

Who?

MTB pink is for anyone! Maybe you’ve never ridden a bike, or maybe you ride regularly with friends but want to increase your confidence on the trails. You might just want to meet some new friends, or start your own racing crew. Maybe you want to give one of the 24hr races a go but want the confidence to pass and deal with people on the tracks. Or maybe you’re out there bringing a few different girls along for some fun with you.

Why Pink?

In a sport that’s around 80% male, it’s nice to find other chicks to ride with! It’s also nice to have a girls day out every so often. We’re about providing an environment for women to have fun, as well as learning skills. It’s as much about meeting like minded women, taking some time for yourself, as riding the bike.
