Please keep in mind the start area will be at Callala Beach. Whilst across the creek from Huskisson (literally), Callala is a half hour drive from Huskisson via Forrest Rd. Yes, we could do that nifty kayak/plank bridge thing but the other boats coming through that creek are far bigger than ours! While Callala Beach and Callala Bay are limited with their accommodation options, nearby Huskisson and Nowra have quite a few options. However, keep in mind that these two towns are close to 25 minutes drive away. Event Centre - CampingFree Event Centre camping is AVAILABLE. Camping is limited. To book, email BlackHeart Events with your booking name and number of people in your group. The Callala RSL Country Club, the event centre for the race, are kindly making provisions so that competitors may camp on the sports field adjacent to the club. Toilets and basic amenities will be provided, and you will be a stones throw away from all the action. Cars will be permitted into the campground. While there will be no charge for all of this, the RSL have asked that all campers consider making a 'note' donation to Legacy. This gesture from the local RSL is fantastic and we would encourage visitors to the area to show your appreciation. The RSL Campground will be open from 3pm on Saturday the 19th of June for competitors to arrive well before registration opens and get set up. The Campground will shut its gates at 7pm on the 20th of February. The following is a basic guideline to what is and isn't allowed at the RSL campground. If in doubt, please send us an email and ask.
Don't forget head torches for the camping. Space will be tight. If you plan on camping near friends, ensure you arrive together. Once you drive into the event centre, you must park where the marshalls instruct and you may not reserve spots next to you. Jervis Bay Accommodation |
