Sell out adventure race rocks Narrabeen

The Sydney Sprint Adventure Race, on the 8th of May in Narrabeen, had a little bit of everything - bonus checkpoints that tested the faster teams decision making skills, a linear course with lots of varied terrain, and over 200 competitors with smiles from ear to ear.  Read on for Ian Terley's (Team United Project Management) race report.

THE 100K'er Rescheduled

THE 100K'er MTB Enduro has been rescheduled to the 20th of June 2010, after some of the heaviest rainfalls in recent memory caused major flooding and severe damage to areas of the New South Wales South Coast.

Here at BlackHeart Events, we spend a lot of time on the road, and it always amazing me that when I reach for the bag of "Natural Confectionary", Amanda goes reaching for the Goji berries.  So, what the heck are Goji berries, and what's the attraction?

Every year it seems there is an ultimate well being silver bullet proliferating on health food store shelves promising amazing benefits. GOJI or Chinese Wolfberry is one of a number of adaptogens with the added attraction of being derived from an exotically originated Tibetan location (great for marketing hype). Digging beneath the hype, there is an emerging body of solid science around some of the tabloid claims that Goji is an efficacious adaptogen.

Enduring road and MTB training in sub zero conditions day in day out is enough to make you either take up lawn bowls or start thinking of effective alternatives.

If you are going to ’sacrifice’ hard miles in the saddle for an indoor regime (other than pure ergo work) you must ensure the routine trains bike specific neuro-muscular pathways and makes a contribution to strength, power and calorie consumption.

A popular alternate training regime in Europe and North America is the lamely labeled ‘bike circuit training’; lame by name but if done correctly powerful by nature.
